On the second Thursday of every month (until September) from 5-8 p.m., the boutiques in Old Detroit open their doors to an event called Sip & Stroll.
It is a nice way to advertise their stores and spice up shopping in Old Detroit with a glass of wine. The crowds vary from start to finish, and the shoppers seem to enjoy the mood the event brings.
Boutiques in Old Detroit include Amy’s Shoes, Geiger’s for Women, Girl Next Door, Peneventures, Mitchell Sotka Ltd., The Perfect Bride, Devout Home and Innuendo.
Each boutique offers unique items that are well worth the trip. As a bonus, many of the stores are having great summer sales that offer quality products at a bargain price.
There are many neat restaurants to check out while shopping, such as Salmon Dave’s, Stino Da Napoli and Tartine Bistro.
Do not miss the last Sip & Stroll on Sept. 10, 2009.
