157 Lounge in downtown Kent, Ohio, offers a big city night life atmosphere in the midst of a small college town. Appealing to an upscale clientele with their trendy high tables, dim lighting, lounge seating, VIP venue and exceptional martini menu, 157 Lounge is the premiere hot spot for the aspiring young professional.
157 Lounge opened its doors last November, and since then has received a considerable amount of attention. They have an outstanding relationship with the students of The Fashion School at Kent State University and have hosted several fashion show after-parties. In February, they donated over 100 dollars towards “Sew Your Love for Haiti," a fashion show fundraiser benefiting the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
Kent’s fashion community reveres 157 Lounge for providing a classy, sophisticated, modern setting which is a fresh angle in the college town of Kent. The lounge also hosted parts of the photo shoot for "Re:Create; The Fashion School at Kent State University’s Annual Spring Fashion Show."
Owner Matthew Guska is a resident of Kent and an alumnus of Kent State University. Finding himself and his peers growing tired of the repetitive nature of the nightlife in Kent, he decided to bring a little something different onto the scene. Walking into the environment at 157 Lounge, you will immediately begin to relax and will have no problem unwinding after a long day. They play a variety of music styles throughout happy hour, and round out the night with some Top 40, indie dance, house and electronica mixed by local DJs.
Along with an exceptional martini and wine menu, 157 Lounge has several monthly as well as weekly drink specials. On Mondays, martinis are $1.50 off, well drinks are served up for only $2 on Tuesdays, and Wednesdays offer a $5 discount on all bottles of wine. If you’re hitting up 157 Lounge Thursday through Sunday, be sure to try out the monthly specials listed on the menu.
