Kent State University hosted the annual Rock the Runway design competition on March 5, 2016. Nearly 800 fashion enthusiasts packed the Kent Student Center Ballroom to watch student designers present their collections inspired by The Jacksons' music. The Judges' Choice award was given to Kelly Neiser for her line "Rhinestone Revolutionary," and the Audience Choice award went to the team of Julia DePalma, Melanie Martin and Tracy Vollbrecht, for their line "ABC, as easy as 1, 2, 3."
